Project Description

Chelsea Scahill

Associate Consultant

My Biography

All the way from San Francisco and with several years Recruitment experience, Chelsea joins us as our Associate Consultant within the Velocity family. A natural will to help people saw Chelsea graduate with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Speech and Pathology from the University of the Pacific in California, with the long-term goal of working in a hospital. With a knack for being the go-to-person Chelsea has worked in a variety of contexts that involve building relationships with people such as a Tour Guide, Peer Advisor and Clerical Assistant. Bringing a diverse perspective to the team as a fresh set of eyes, Chelsea genuinely understands the role of temporary staff having been a temporary receptionist when she first joined Velocity in 2014. Highly process-driven, Chelsea enjoys an eye for detail and has implemented an extensive range of processes the company now follow.

My Why

I get to help my team and help people find work. It’s a long process for temps and I enjoy helping them along the way. I started in New Zealand as a temp and am so grateful for all the advice and chances I was given from Velocity early on.

My Desert Island, 3 things that I would take

I would take Fleetwood Mac music, an encyclopaedia, and a beer brewing kit (that counts as one thing OK!). It could almost be a holiday!

My Weekend

Fish tacos and sunshine, preferably at the same time. I also volunteer at the emergency room for the Wellington Hospital, and spend a lot of time chatting to my younger sister in California. She’s like me but kind of ridiculous.

My Success

Graduating university while juggling six part-time jobs and a sorority. I’m also happy to have had the opportunity to come to New Zealand and work for such an awesome agency since then.

My Alternative

I would be in graduate school and getting into the medical field.
